Before we start arguing about this lets take a look at what China is capable of when it comes to speeding. On the CN traveler "Top 10 Fastest Trains in the world" list,  Shanghai Maglev: 267 mph ranks number 1.
China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation (CASIC) on August 30, has said it wants to build a “high-speed flying train” that will be more than three times faster than Elon Musk’s Hyperloop which currently goes 324 km/h and promises speeds of a paltry 1,200 km/hr which means the chinese Hyperloop will be capable of traveling at 4,000 kilometers (2,500 miles) per hour, even10 times faster than China’s fastest existing bullet train.
CASIC claims that its own version of the tube-enclosed system will be the first in the world designed for supersonic speed, though the first step will be hitting top speeds of 1,000 km/h. Musk has suggested that future versions of the Hyperloop would travel faster than the speed of sound.
